Dr. Mohammed Alghamdi

President - Saudi Nurses Association

Dr. Mohammed Alghamdi is the President of the Saudi Nurses Association and the General Director of Nursing at the Saudi Ministry of Health. He previously served as the Chair of the National Nursing Committee at the Saudi Health Council and is currently an adjunct assistant professor at Almaarefa University.

Dr. Alghamdi earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from the Jordan University of Science and Technology in 2009. In 2017, he completed his PhD in Nursing Leadership and Health Care Innovation from the University of San Diego, California.

In 2012, Dr. Alghamdi was honored with the Nursing Excellence Award (Nusaybah bint Ka’b Award) by the Executive Board of the Health Ministers’ Council for the GCC States. More recently, he received the prestigious DAISY Award for Nursing Leadership in 2022 from the DAISY Foundation, presented by Mark Barnes, Founder and Chairman of the DAISY Award Board of Directors in the United States.

Dr. Alghamdi has an extensive publication record, with numerous scientific papers focusing on nursing leadership, work environment, and clinical quality outcomes. He serves as a reviewer for several esteemed scientific journals, including the Journal of Advanced Nursing, Journal of Nursing Management, and Nursing Forum. Additionally, he is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Zeta Mu Chapter) and sits on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Jordan Journal of Nursing Research.

With over 28 years of experience, Dr. Alghamdi has held various leadership positions and chaired numerous advisory committees and councils, such as the Arab Advisory Committee for Nursing and Midwifery at the League of Arab States and the Advisory Council for Nursing Programs at Almaarefa University. He is also a member of several academic advisory councils, including those at Al-Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University and Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University.
